On May 19th, several employees were honored for their years of service to Petersburg ISD. Leading the stampede at 35 years is Mrs. Dianne Taylor. She has served as computer aide, secondary librarian, and secondary secretary. Mrs. Taylor's kind, patient heart, diligence, and commitment to our school, students and staff are all greatly appreciated. Mrs. Taylor is also retiring this year. Thank you for your love and dedication to the Black and Gold! We love you!

Petersburg ISD Names New Elementary Principal Buffalo Nation would like to welcome Krista Ellison as our new elementary principal. Ms. Ellison comes to us from Happy ISD where she served faithfully with a heart full of passion for her staff, students and community. She brings new ideas and a track record of excellence with her. "Dear Petersburg Community, Parents, Staff, and Students, My name is Krista Ellison. I am thrilled to have the opportunity to work with you in the role of Elementary Principal for the upcoming school year of 2023-2024! I am a small-town girl from the rural community of Lockney, Texas so I know all too well the many benefits and experiences to be gained from a small school. I have two rambunctious boys, Karson (7) and Kreyton (5) who keep me busy. Between them, we spend much of our time playing golf and baseball, fishing, and getting into mischief. My family and I are very excited to be moving back in this direction. It is already starting to feel like home! In this short time, I’ve already had the opportunity to meet many staff members, students, and community members. I couldn’t be more impressed with the caliber of the people in this community. Petersburg ISD is a school of prominent reputation and I am excited to be a part of that continuous growth and success. I look forward to partnering with you in your child’s educational experience. Way to go, Caylee!!! 💛🖤💛🖤 Caylee Kattner, an 8th grader at Petersburg Junior High, scored a 26 on her very first ACT test. We are so excited and proud of this amazing achievement. The national average for juniors and seniors is a score of 20. A score of 26 will already qualify her for many scholarships and admission to several universities once she is a senior. Caylee, your diligence and excellent work ethic are serving you well. On top of her intelligence and drive, Caylee has a heart of pure GOLD! A HUGE CONGRATULATIONS to Samantha Mena!!!🖤💛🖤🔥🔥 Samantha has been awarded the prestigious Lubbock Hispanic Association of Women $2000 Scholarship! This award was based on Samantha's high grade point average, essay, and great character! This scholarship was formed to help young ladies across the region fulfill their dreams of a college education. We appreciate their support of our students. Petersburg High School proudly announces our Class of 2023 valedictorian and salutatorian. Our PHS valedictorian is Gabriella Montez. Gabriella is the daughter of Jesus and Angelic Montez. She plans to attend Texas Tech and major in Business Administration. Gabby graduates with a 96.56 GPA. Ebediah Nava is our PHS Class of 2023 salutatorian. Ebediah is the daughter of Rogelio and Marie Nava. She plans to attend Lubbock Christian University and major in Animal Science and pursue a career as a veterinarian. Ebediah graduates with a GPA of 95.18 We could not be prouder of these two young ladies. They have carried themselves with the utmost class and character all of their years at Petersburg ISD. Congratulations, Gabriella and Ebediah! Your hard work and dedication have paid off and have set you on an amazing path. We wish you the best always!

Happy Administrative Assistant's Day & School Business Manager Day!!! We are definitely blessed with amazing women that serve our school selflessly. Mrs. Taylor and Miss Samantha do an excellent job keeping everything from PreK -12th grade running smoothly. Mrs. Navarro oversees so much as Superintendent's secretary while making sure we all know the high standard that has been set in place at Buffalo Nation. Her years of service have been such an asset to our school. Mrs. Robertson works diligently as our school's Business Manager to make sure all things are done with integrity and in excellence. Ladies, we can never adequately thank you all! Your heart for our school shows in all that you do and we are so grateful. We hope today is amazing!

A big congratulations to Coda Daniel! Coda has been awarded the following scholarships: $2,000 Angelo State Freshman Scholarship $1,000 Hale County Soil and Water Conservation Scholarship $500 Masonic Lodge Scholarship All scholarships were based on her high academic achievement and leadership skills. Coda has served in several leadership roles at Petersburg ISD including Student Council President, FFA President, Cheerleader and has served on the TEEN SUMMIT team while maintaining a high GPA. Petersburg ISD is excited to host another Invitational Track Meet for the High School on Thursday, April 6th. We will have approximately 8 teams competing in this track meet! In celebration to that, we will be releasing school on that day at 12:45 PM so that people may attend the track meet. Please note, there is NO SCHOOL on Friday, April 7th AND Monday, April 10th.
