DISTRICT OF INNOVATION
The District of Innovation concept, passed by the 84th Legislative Session in House Bill 1842, gives traditional independent school districts most of the flexibilities available to Texas’ open-enrollment charter schools. Petersburg ISD has chosen to focus the District of Innovation Plan around the needed flexibility in scheduling in order to better meet the needs of students and teachers. To better meet these needs and offer additional opportunities to our students, flexibility is needed in the following areas:
