Petersburg Elementary achieved TEA Recognized status for the 2008-09 school year. The campus narrowly missed TEA’s highest ranking, Exemplary.
“We are extremely proud of the accomplishments of the students and staff”, said Petersburg superintendent Joey Nichols. “They have worked very hard to reach this level and are committed to making the campus an Exemplary one. Mr. Roark and his staff are to be commended for their role in the performance of these students.”
“We are also very proud of the accomplishments of our secondary campus”, he continued. “They were only a couple of percentage points away from Recognized status, which for a school our size is just a couple of kids. They are more determined than ever reach that next level”.
In other school news, Petersburg ISD is in the process of rebuilding the school website and moving to a new webhost. The new website, which is expected to go “live” sometime in mid-September, will include easier navigation, more pictures and graphics, and significantly more information. Other user friendly options will be available from the website as the school year advances.
