Superintendent
Joey Nichols is in his 7th year as Petersburg ISD superintendent. Mr. Nichols, a graduate of Texas Tech University (B.S. - 1979, M.S. - 1991) is currently in his 27th year in public education. He served as Petersburg ISD secondary principal from 1999-2005, and previously served as a teacher, coach, and administrator at Lorenzo ISD. He and his wife, Sydney, who retired in May 2010 after 31 years as a teacher, have four children: Jody, a 2001 PISD graduate and 2005 graduate of Texas Tech University, is currently a financial analyst in Nashville, Tennessee. J’Rae, 2003 PISD graduate and 2007 graduate of West Texas A&M University, is a middle school math teacher in Brownfield, Texas. Taylor, a 2010 PISD graduate, is a sophomore at Texas Tech University. Paige is a junior at Petersburg Jr./Sr. High School.
