Superintendent
Joey Nichols is in his fifth year as Petersburg ISD superintendent. Mr. Nichols, a graduate of Texas Tech University (B.S. - 1979, M.S. - 1991) is currently in his 26th year in public education. He served as Petersburg ISD secondary principal from 1999-2005, and previously served as a teacher, coach, and administrator at Lorenzo ISD. He and his wife, Sydney, a family and consumer sciences teacher at Petersburg ISD, have four children: Jody, a 2001 PISD graduate and 2005 graduate of Texas Tech University, is currently a financial analyst in Nashville, Tennessee. J’Rae, 2003 PISD graduate and 2007 graduate of West Texas A&M University, is a middle school math teacher in Brownfield, Texas. Taylor (a senior) and Paige (a freshman) are students in Petersburg Jr./Sr. High School.
