 Juniors in High School:  Camp College is an early intervention college preparation program, designed to expose rising seniors to the college admissions process and the benefits of earning a college degree. During this year’s events, students will have the opportunity to tour Texas Tech University’s campus, attend information sessions, interact with representatives from colleges across the state of Texas, and enjoy the sights of West Texas. All expenses for student participants, inclusive of accommodations and meals, will be covered by TACAC and Texas Tech University.  30 will be selected- academically talented students from underrepresented groups that are classified as socio-economically disadvantaged to participate   Deadline is May 1st to apply- see Mrs. Burton  Camp college June 9-11 at Texas Tech

Lighthouse Electric Cooperative Government-in-Action Youth Tour Contest- $500 scholarship and expense paid trip to Washington D.C. in June; see Mrs. Burton for more details- open for juniors and seniors; will have a 5-10 minute interview on why student should be chosen, what going to the nation's Capital would mean to him/her, and what he/she would most like to gain from the experience; 2 will be chosen
